About our Founders
Frances “Bootsie” Hanson and Tammi Waters combined their energy, vision and diverse talents to establish Bug PRO Florida in 2003. Their commitment to prompt, quality service with a personal touch has earned Bug PRO a loyal clientele throughout Northeast Florida.
Frances “Bootsie” Hanson
Frances is the Co-Founder and President of Bug PRO Florida. She has been in the pest control business for more than 25 years and is an Associate Certified Entomologist. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Frances began her career as a civilian contractor providing pest control services to a local military base.
During her employment in the industry Frances has attended many pest control training courses around the United States. While participating in these educational opportunities she became certified in every possible category of pest management. Among these are certifications in the areas of General Household Pest Control, Lawn and Ornamental, Termite Control, Public Health Pest Control, Aquatic Plant Management and Right of Way. This training allows her to recognize pest problems that could be missed by others who don’t have this broad experience and education.
In addition to having the field experience, Frances knows about the challenges of the office staff. She has been balancing “tech vs office vs sales” since stepping into a supervisory/managerial role in the early 1990’s. If you ask her who is the most important she’ll tell you “the business will close if we aren’t all working together to serve the customer.”
Tammi Waters
Tammi is Co-founder and Vice President of Bug PRO Florida. She is a seasoned finance professional with nearly 20 years of accounting experience in the Jacksonville area. She is responsible for all aspects of fiscal management, forecasting and reporting for Bug PRO Florida. That includes oversight of the firm’s daily operations, as well as development of a comprehensive policy of internal controls and inventory management.
Along with her accounting responsibilities, Tammi oversees all corporate documentation requirements and renewals, licensing renewal schedules, government registrations and small business certifications. She identifies, reviews, and submits bids, technical proposals and associated documents and supports staff in the field when necessary.
Tammi has also provided the leadership to introduce and manage Bug PRO’s supporting technology. She has overseen the implementation of state-of-the-art mapping and GPS systems for dispatching and managing company equipment, Pest Control specific software for managing customer accounts, and in-vehicle mobile and wireless technologies for on-site customer support.
